Philipp Bergau grew up as an ordinary Berlin city boy with no intention living in the outdoors. A decent education, a study after that, then working as an event lighting technician- that was the plan. But 10 years ago, it all changed when he got his first sleddog out of a dog shelter. Since then it was a constant improvement from city life, to a cabin in the woods of Germany, to 4 years of guiding people in northern Sweden. And finally, coming up to Svalbard with 5 of his own bred dogs. During all this time he learned allot from different people/musher and he did read all he could. The rest of the time he spent on multiple week hikes during summer and on the sled and skis during winter time.

Now he and his 8 Alaskan Malamutes are living between Åre and Svalbard

Polar dogs, deep valleys and majestic mountains and clean silence, only interrupted by the breathing of running dogs, our sled and skis gliding on the hard-packed snow surface. Multiple days of breathtaking views!

If you want to really experience the wild, astonishing beauty of northern Sweden there is no better way than going back in time, pack a traditional sled with a tipi tent and pemmican trail food and give the Polardogs the command to go.

Are you ready for a real adventure?
We´ll go out with strong teams of big expedition dogs like it has been done for centuries. Dressed in expedition outer cloths, wool and Steger Mukluks we will travel along the northern Kingstrail starting where ever you want the trip to start. The route will be customised according to what you might want to see.
