The northern section of the Kungsleden in Lapland is probably the most famous and frequently travelled part of this historic 440km trail. From its starting point at the tourist station in Abisko, the trail leads south towards Kebnekaise with its peak of 2105m crowning over Swedens mountain terrain.

Join us for a 7 day hike along the northern Kungsleden trail. Terrain Map

We are joined by a big, happy and lovable sled dog who carries his own supplies and provides good company on our trip.

We customise the trip according to your fitness level and your personal interest, since the trail offers detour options which makes for a more solitude and versatile hiking experience, rather than strictly following the main part of the trail. That said, you will need a rather good fitness to hike the 12-35 daily kilometers with a medium weight backpack. The backpack weight is rather low, since we will stay in swedish mountain cabins and even food supplies can be bought along the way. Those cabins are comfortable, mostly maintained by staff and welcoming places to come to after a day’s walking.

The summers in Sweden are as magnificent as the winters. The reindeers are grazing on the mountain sides and valleys, birds and other wild life can be seen, and beautiful flowers are growing in the midnight sun as fast as they can in their short time before  fall sets in and creates an orange-red ocean before winter arrives and covers the colourful landscape in white.

Spectacular views will follow us through the beautifully wild landscape.
